Pengenalan
jenis Beep code
Beep code merupakan hasil dari tes awal hardware yang
dilakukan oleh bios komputer yang disebut POST.Power-on self-test (POST) adalah
tes yang di lakukan oleh bios komputer pada waktu pertama kali menyala untuk
memastikan semua perangkat keras berfungsi dengan benar dan memenuhi persaratan
minimum sistem sebelum memulai sisa proses booting.
IBM BIOS
– Beep 1x pendek : Normal POST – no error
– Beep 2x pendek : POST error – see screen for error code
– Tanpa Beep : Power missing, loose card or short circuit
– Beep Berulang-ulang : Power missing, loose card or short circuit
– Beep Pendek Berulang-ulang : Power missing, loose card or short circuit

Pengecekan
Perangkat input,proses,output dan media penyimpanan pada BIOS
Perangkat
input
Meliputi keyboard dan mouse,apabila keyboard mengalami
masalah akan ada konfirmasi pada layar post,keyboard error/not detect atau kita
tidak bisa menekan tompol F2/DEL untuk masuk ke menu bios.Bila hal tersebut
terjadi maka bisa dipastikan keyboard rusak/pemasangan terminal keyboard kurang
tepat.
Untuk mouse pengecekan pada bios hanya bisa dilakukan
pada pada bios type uefibios yang sudah support mouse apabila mouse rusak,kita
tidak bisa mengerakkan pointer untuk membantu proses setting pada bios.
Perangkat
proses
Pengecekan perangkat proses pada Bios biasanya
berjalan secara otomatis pada waktu POST mulai bekerja,apabila ada kesalahan
perangkat,hasilnya akan ditampilkan pada monitor.
Perangkat
output
Untuk perangkat output pada bios adalah monitor
apabila gambar tidak tampil pada monitor,berarti ada kesalahan pada pemasangan
vga/memory atau monitor itu sendiri yang rusak.
